There aren’t all that many instances of cars of influential personalities being stolen in India
In a rather shocking turn of events, the Toyota Fortuner of BJP President JP Nadda was stolen in Delhi. India is, unfortunately, home to some of the most questionable road incidents. We know that people don’t often follow the traffic regulations. These result in car crashes or other strange activities on the roads. Stealing car parts or entire cars is also not uncommon, especially in some specific parts of the country. However, stealing a car of a well-known politician from the service centre is unheard of. Here are the details.
BJP President JP Nadda’s Toyota Fortuner Stolen
The internet is full of news reports of this case. As per the information available online, the driver of JP Nadda handed over the Toyota Fortuner to the service centre in Govindpuri, New Delhi. During this time, he went to have lunch. However, he was shocked to find out later on that the car had been stolen from the service centre. Note that this SUV belongs to JP Nadda’s wife. Unsurprisingly, the Police and other authorities sprang into action. The CCTV footage of the SUV was observed right from the time it left the service centre.
An interesting thing which surfaced via the CCTV footage was the fact that the thieves had come in a Hyundai Creta to steal the Fortuner. After following the clues, the Police were able to establish that the thieves belonged to Haryana, where they had even swapped the number plate of the SUV. Thereafter, the miscreants drove the Fortuner to Banaras. As per the reports, the plan was to take the car to Nagaland. Thankfully, the Delhi Police recovered the SUV just in time. The thief has been arrested, and the investigation is going on.
My View
I am quite surprised by this event. We know that some areas in our country are prone to such activities. However, to have something like this occur in the capital to a car of the BJP President raises serious concerns. In fact, that is what the netizens have also been pointing out. If the thieves have the courage to steal cars of such personalities, where does the common man stand. Let us hope that the Police authorities work so efficiently for the common folk as they did in this case.
