To commemorate the success story of Maya Mukti, Cyrus Poonawalla (head of the Serum Institute of India) has gifted her a Maruti S-Presso. Apparently, the Billionaire was inspired by her story and wanted to help her mission. Currently, Maya Mukti is working with many villages around Nashik city and helping them to bring local issues to the attention of the authorities. Cyrus Poonawalla hopes that the new car will help her travel to the villages quickly and easily. Maya has recently learned to drive and got her license. She is quite amazed by the kind gesture and resolves to follow the fight for local issues.
Previously, Maya Mukti used to travel in infrequent public buses. In certain cases, she had to pay for taxis or rent cars to visit several villages. The new car will help her to save a lot of time, energy, and money. The rag-picker-turned-video journalist vows to work even harder now and try to help more people. While a Maruti S-Presso is not a big deal for the Billionaire Cyrus Poonawalla, the gesture is pretty helpful. If more people could take steps after reading such stories in a newspaper, we might see more dreams turning into realities.
