Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The top of the line ZDi+ trims comes loaded with features. In its latest avatar, the Dzire is lighter and offers more space.

2. Maruti Ciaz SHVS [28.09 KMPL]

A claimed fuel efficiency of 28.09 KMPL means the Maruti Ciaz sits at the top of the best mileage diesel cars in India list. One of the major reasons for its high fuel efficiency rating is the use of the SHVS mild hybrid technology. 6. Maruti Ignis [26.80 KMPL]

At number five on the list of best mileage diesel cars in India is the Maruti Ignis. Sold through the Nexa sales channel, the Ignis boasts an unconventional design and targets the younger audience. It is powered by the same 1.3 L diesel as every other Maruti product on this list. Ignis diesel is available with a 5-speed manual as well as a 5-speed AMT.
