Benelli TRK 502 and 502X have been launched in India. TRK 502 is offered in two variants – 502 and 502X – priced at Rs 5 Lakhs and Rs 5.4 Lakhs respectively.
Benelli has launched its first adventure motorcycle in India, TRK 502. It fits in the mid-capacity ADV segment. At a starting price of Rs 5 Lakhs, it is the cheapest option now.
Benelli TRK 502 is an adventure touring, meant for long distance touring. TRK 502X is a more off-road focused version, but it looks nearly same. The former is meant for the road and the latter is meant for off-road.
Benelli had a fallout with DSK Motowheels in 2017 following which it did not sell its bike in India for a couple of months. In 2018, it collaborated with Adishwar Auto Ride India to retail new bikes in India.

Benelli TRK 502 gets 17-inch tires at both end, paired with alloy wheels. It gets an underbelly exhaust and comes without an engine belly, which classifies it as a touring motorcycle.
TRK 502X, on the other hand, gets a 19-inch tire at the front and 17-inch tire at the back. The dual-purpose tires are paired with spoke wheels, for better off-roading convenience. The 502X is offered with a high-positioned upswept exhaust and an engine bash plate.
However, both the ADVs use the same chassis, body panels and electronic aids. The suspension on both the bikes is also same, but 502X gets longer suspension travel. Both the variants use a 50mm USD fork and adjustable monoshock at the back.

Benelli TRK 502 and 502X use the same engine. They use a 499.6cc DOHC liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. The engine is capable of delivering 47.5 BHP at 8500 RPM and 46 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
For braking purposes, both the variants are equipped with 320mm double discs at the front and a single 260mm disc at the back, paired with dual-channel ABS.
TRK 502 gets a seat height of 800mm, shorter than TRK 502X, which is 840mm tall. The dry weight of the bike is 213 kgs. It gets a fuel tank capacity of 20 litres, which can deliver a riding range of nearly 450 kms.

Benelli TRK 502 competes with the likes of Suzuki V-Strom 650, Kawasaki Versys 650 and SWM Superdual T. It will also compete with the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. All of these motorcycles go well above Rs 6 Lakhs, making TRK the cheapest option.
