Benelli has launched the new Leoncino 500 retro-styled scrambler in India. It is the third product from the manufacturer after its new tie-up with Aadishwar Auto Ride India (AARI) which is based out of Hyderabad.
Benelli Leoncino 500 is priced at Rs 4.79 Lakhs (ex-showroom) in India, as it is brought through the CKD route. The bookings for the bike have commenced across all dealerships for a token amount of Rs 10,000.
The bike follows an old-school scrambler design with the round headlamps and the near-roadster type appeal. As of now, it is only available in the Standard variant. Design highlights include a sculpted fuel tank, alloy wheels, the single sporty seat and the rear tire hugger style.

Leoncino uses a 499cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, that produces 47 BHP at 8500 RPM and 45 Nm of peak torque at 4500 RPM, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The same engine is found on the TRK adventure motorcycles.
For suspension, it comes with 50mm telescopic forks at the front and a mono-shock at the back. Braking is handled by 320mm dual disc brakes at the front and a 260mm disc at the back with dual-channel ABS as standard.
Features onboard include LED headlamps, a single piece handlebar, LED turn indicators, LED taillights and a fully digital instrument console. Its biggest highlight is the simple yet sophisticated retro styling.

Benelli offers two colour options onboard – Leoncino Red and Steel Grey. As of now, Benelli has its showroom in some cities as the company is looking to expand its operations across the country soon.
Talking about the competition, Benelli Leoncino 500 doesn’t have any rival and is the most affordable Scrambler right now. You have the original Ducati Scrambler but it is priced nearly double. At this price point, you can also go for the Kawasaki Z650.
