New Benelli Imperiale 400 is a retro look motorcycle that can become a potent rival to Royal Enfield 350 models
Well, DSK Benelli will soon launch a new motorcycle that will take the fight straight to the Royal Enfield 350 models. The upcoming motorcycle in question here is the new Benelli Imperiale 400, which was put on display at the EICMA 2017 earlier this year. The new Benelli Imperiale 400 launch in India is likely to happen in the first quarter of next year, most probably, soon after a debut at the Auto Expo 2018. The retro look motorcycle will come to us via CKD route. We are expecting an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 2 lakh.

The new motorcycle from Benelli is powered. by a 373cc four-stroke, air-cooled engine that outputs a maximum power of 20 PS along with a peak torque of 28 Nm. Looking at the specifications, it becomes pretty apparent that the specs are at par with those offered by the 350cc REs. A thing to note here is that this bike’s engine has an overhead camshaft (OHC) compared to the rather primitive pushrod system of RE. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Benelli Imperiale 400 Launch in India
The new motorcycle should launch here in early 2018. It’s very likely to make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. In all probability, the Imperiale would be on sale in India before the end of the first quarter.
Benelli Imperiale 400 Price In India
Pricing is a critical factor in a highly price-sensitive market like that of ours. While we are not sure if the upcoming motorcycle would be priced really aggressively, CKD assembly would still help the company price its product competitively. There are good chances that the new model would have an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 2 lakh. At this price point, the Imperiale will be able to give a good fight to the RE 350s in the pricing department.
