New reports reveal that Benelli will be launching its first BS6 motorcycle in April, which will be the Imperiale 400 cruiser.
Benelli is yet to launch any BS6 motorcycle in India, with just 11 days remaining for the deadline. Its last launch was the Leoncino 250, which is a neo-modern roadster. It now has five new motorcycles in its lineup including Leoncino 500, Imperiale 400 and the TRK 502 Twins.
As per a new report, Benelli Imperiale 400 BS6 will be the first from the manufacturer. It will be launched in April and following that, the rest of the motorcycles will receive the update. We are expecting deliveries to commence a week post the official launch.
Imperiale 400 is the most popular motorcycle from the brand, receiving a good attraction when it was launched. It is an old-school cruiser loaded with modern bits. Despite that, it still remains a retro-looking motorcycle and a worthy competitor for Royal Enfield.

The cruiser uses a 374cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with Fuel Injection. The motor produces 21PS at 5500rpm and 29Nm at 4500rpm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. We have tested out the Imperiale and it can achieve a top speed of up to 130 km/hr.
For suspension, it uses 41mm telescopic forks at the front and pre-load adjustable twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the end with dual-channel ABS as standard. At the front, it gets a 19-inch tyre and an 18-inch tyre at the back.
