Base Batteries, a leading battery manufacturer in India, launched India’s first Formula One race car battery on 20th October in New Delhi, India. Base Batteries which has entered into a technical partnership with Formula One HRT team will be the first Indian battery manufacturer to be the official battery supplier for the Formula One HRT race car. Narain Karthikeyan, the fastest Indian in the world who will be driving the Formula One HRT race car for the Indian Grand Prix 2011 unveiled the battery. Aditya Arora, COO, Base Batteries was also present for the launch.

The special battery designed and manufactured for HRT Formula One cars with cutting-edge technology, weighs 0.9 kg and is a 12V, 2.3 ampere hour battery. The dimensions of the battery are 114X 39X 87mm (LXWXH).
