Bajaj Pulsar RS400 is speculated to launch in India from a very long time. Dominar’s engine on the fully-faired Pulsar sportsbike could actually be a deal breaker.
Bajaj Dominar is the most powerful bike from the brand, which uses Duke 390’s engine. Bajaj Auto owns KTM and its bikes are manufactured from Bajaj’s Chakan plant.
Just below the Dominar, Bajaj’s next premium products include Pulsar RS200 and NS200. From a long time, it is speculated that the Dominar’s engine might take place in Avenger and RS200.
Bajaj Pulsar RS400 would use the same engine on Dominar, but retain the styling and bodywork of the RS200.

The liquid-cooled SOHC 373cc engine on the Dominar produces 35 BHP and 35 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. If this engine comes on the Bajaj Pulsar RS400, the power figures might be slightly increased.
The features and other equipments might remain the same. Pulsar RS200 is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and Nitrox mono shock absorber with Canister at the back.
Features onboard might include a fully digital instrument cluster (From Dominar 400), dual projector headlamps, dual-channel ABS, clip-on handlebars, Split seats and Fuel Injection system.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 will go against the likes of Honda CBR250R, Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC390 and TVS Apache RR310. All these motorcycles are fully-faired sportsbike, with Ninja being the costliest of the lot.
Currently, the Pulsar RS200 goes for Rs 1.39 Lakhs with ABS. The more powerful RS might be priced between Rs 1.7 Lakhs to Rs 2 Lakhs, still undercutting most of its competitors. With Bajaj, we can expect competitive pricing.
Its main competitors will include KTM RC390 and TVS Apache RR310, which have similar power and torque figures. If it launches, it could act as a cheaper alternative to Apache RR310 and RC390.
