Digital automobile artists have a unique tendency to devise incredibly rare versions of popular motorcycles.
Here is an enticing digital rendering of the Bajaj Pulsar RS400. Pulsar is a household name in our country since time immemorial. Bajaj has made it a point to offer some version of the Pulsar in all major segments of our market. However, there is just the Dominar 400 in the bigger capacity engine category and it has not been doing too well. Therefore, digital artists have thought of developing a version of the Pulsar that could have the potential to pull new customers due to the image it holds. Here are the details.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400 Rendering
This illustration has been conceptualized by abin_designs_511 on Instagram. It records an aggressive and mean version of the Pulsar. The overall design looks heavily influenced by the sporty machines you would find on the racing tracks. At the front, the twin-LED headlamps are an upgraded version of the existing setup, the colossal fairing gives it that adventurous vibe, the black colour of the bike contrasts with the red and grey body graphics really well, the fuel tank is sculpted, there is a split-seat setup, the exhaust pipe is chunky, the black side body panels look rugged, the alloy wheels are elegant, and the handler bar is compact. All in all, this is an immensely attractive version of the Pulsar RS400.

Specs
Since there is only the Dominar 400 in Bajaj’s camp in this segment, this RS400 would ideally borrow the powertrain from it if it ever makes it to production. Hence, it could carry a 373-cc fuel-injected powertrain that develops 43 PS and 35 Nm of peak power and torque. There would be a 6-speed manual transmission with a dual-channel ABS with this mill. The Dominar costs Rs 2.30 lakh, ex-showroom. If the RS400 ever makes it to production, it will lock horns with the likes of the KTM RC 390, Ninja 300, Benelli TNT300, Yamaha R3 and TVS Apache RR310.

What We Think
Bajaj has been struggling to get a star product in the 400-cc segment as the Dominar is not raking in as many sales as the Indian two-wheeler manufacturing giant would have wanted. Hence, it might be the right time to replace the Dominar 400 with a 400-cc version of the Pulsar. The tag ‘Pulsar’ still has immense power and legacy and people are more likely to get themselves associated with it. Let us see if Bajaj actually decides to do something like this in the near future.
