Bajaj Pulsar NS400 Design – An evolution of NS200!
The Bajaj Pulsar NS400 inherits design cues from its predecessor, the NS200, presenting a robust streetfighter appearance. Notable elements include a muscular tank, enlarged tank extensions, and striking red and grey stickers adorning various parts like the headlight cowl, belly pan, and wheels. The bike’s revamped headlight cluster features LED projector lights and thunderbolt-style DRLs, enhancing its visual appeal.
While some enthusiasts express disappointment over similarities with the NS200, Bajaj’s strategic design approach aims at cost-efficiency and maintaining the NS series’ identity. The bike boasts a perimeter frame, gold-colored USD fork, monoshock, and box-section swingarm, all designed to optimize pricing without compromising performance. The Pulsar NS400 promises a feature-rich experience, including a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, ABS modes, and the potential inclusion of a traction control system. These modern features align with market demands for enhanced safety and connectivity.

Powering the NS400 is a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine derived from the Dominar 400, delivering 40bhp and 35Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Unlike the Dominar’s exhaust, the NS400 sports an underbelly exhaust, contributing to its distinctive look. Anticipated to be competitively priced between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh, the NS400 is poised to become the most affordable 400cc bike in India, targeting a wide segment of enthusiasts.

Our View
For over two decades, the Bajaj Pulsar has catered to performance biking enthusiasts looking for an affordable option. While the 220 and the NS200 have done well on the sales chart, the need of the hour is a more powerful version to take on 300cc+ models from TVS and Hero MotoCorp. This is precisely where the Pulsar RS400 comes in. With a reputation for delivering a punchy performance at a wallet-friendly price, the next Pulsar flagship might redefine the Indian performance motorcycle segment.
