There has been enough buzz on a 400cc flagship from Bajaj Auto Ltd and this Bajaj Pulsar 400F concept looks bolder than KTM 390 Duke
The Bajaj Pulsar has been one of the most iconic motorcycle brands of our market. This range includes bikes from 125cc to 250cc categories and there’s a model to suit everyone’s budget and taste. Of late, there has been a murmur on a 400cc flagship that would be sold alongside the Dominar 400. There’s yet no official word on this two-wheeler but several independent artists have come up with various illustrations of the ‘big daddy’ of Pulsars. The latest concept looks hotter than almost everything else we’ve seen so far. Let’s take a good look at the Bajaj Pulsar 400F concept.

Bajaj Pulsar 400F Concept
Conceptualized by Abin_Designs_511, the latest 400cc Pulsar concept is a macho-looking streetnaked that impresses with its bold yet futuristic styling. Up front, it gets a pretty radically-styled facade with a twin-pod headlamp arrangement flanked by LED DRLs. In the side profile, you’ll be quick to realize the heavy influence from the 220F. Much of the front fairing resembles the one on the 220, probably, the most iconic of all Pulsars launched so far. Meanwhile, the front-end has an upmarket look with USDs, beefy rubber and a pretty large disc.
Coming back to the side profile, the Pulsar 220 influence doesn’t end. The side panel and the grab rails are, once again, reminiscent of ‘The Fastest Indian’ while the motorcycle even gets a similar twin-seat arrangement. However, foot-peg mounts are totally different and os is the fuel tank. Giving the iconic design of the fuel tank a new direction, the artist has visualized a more bulbous design befitting of a sportsbike. The rear look is currently unavailable but given the high 220 influence, we expect the tail-end to feature familiar styling cues merged with a sportier format. In fact, one can already notice the tail-tidy kit on careful observation. Overall, the Bajaj Pulsar 400F impresses with the bold look and we feel that it makes for an interesting alternative to the KTM 390 Duke.

Specs
Again, it’s a bit early to comment on the specifications of the Pulsar 400F but there are some chances it could get a reworked version of the motor that propels the Dominar 400, which, basically, gets a retuned version of the KTM 390 Duke’s engine. Another possibility is Bajaj would come up with its own near-400cc engine, much like what it did with the recently launched Pulsar 250 duo. We feel that this is more likely as Bajaj would want to retain the punchy feel of the 220 and even want to keep prices under a check. Currently, the Pulsar F250 and N250 are the most powerful models in their lineup with a maximum power of 24.5 PS and a peak torque of 21.5 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox that features an assist and slipper clutch function. While the F250 weighs 164 kg, the N250 tips the scale at 161 kg. Highlights of the features list include Anti-locking Braking System (ABS), LED headlights, Semi-digital instrument cluster, Single-channel ABS, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
