Bajaj is launching the Dominar 250 towards the end of this month. It looks identical to the Dominar 400 with a smaller engine and some mechanical changes.
We have exclusive spy shots of the upcoming Bajaj Dominar 250 in the red colour options. The scaled-down power cruiser is set to hit the roads at the end of this month. It will also be available in a matte-black colour option.
As seen in this spy shot, it gets slightly different alloy wheels and the same USD forks from Dominar 400. The width of the tire also seems to be a bit slimmer. Rest of the bike looks exactly the same as the Dominar 400.
Reports suggest that it will get a low-cost box-type swingarm to further reduce the costs. We were expecting it to get conventional telescopic forks at the front but here we can see premium USD ones. Braking will be handled by slightly smaller disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Bajaj Dominar 250 will borrow its engine from the BS6 Duke 250. So, it will run on a 248.6cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder BS6 compliant engine. On Duke, the engine produces 28 BHP and 24 Nm of peak torque. However, on Dominar, it could deliver around 26 BHP with the same 24 Nm of maximum torque.
Rest of the features like a fully digital instrument cluster, a small digital readout atop the fuel tank, LED headlamps, tell-tale lights and a single step-up seat will be continued on the Dominar 250 as well. Do not forget the same dual-port exhaust setup.
With the launch of the 250cc Dominar, Bajaj will technically have four products in the space. There’s the KTM Duke 250 and the recently launched, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. The Dominar will be the cheapest followed by Husqvarna Twins and then Duke 250.
We are expecting Bajaj to offer it at an affordable price of around Rs 1.5 Lakhs to Rs 1.6 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It is expected to be around Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 cheaper than the 400. Despite offering significant upgrades to the Dominar 400 last year, Bajaj has not received a good response from the market.

Dealerships are about to open the bookings for Dominar 250. With its launch scheduled for the last week of March, we can expect the deliveries to commence in the first week of April. It will rival the likes of Duke 200, Classic 350, Jawa Forty Two and Suzuki Gixxer 250.
