The new Bajaj Chetak scooter has been one of the most iconic comebacks in the Indian market and its launch is just some time away from now. Bajaj will start taking bookings for the Chetak from January 2020 and we can now confirm that deliveries will first begin shortly after in Pune and Bengaluru, simultaneously. The Chetak will initially be sold via select KTM dealerships.
Bajaj has only unveiled the scooter, revealing its features and styling. While the scooter uses a 4kW electric motor and a unique automated transmission, the battery specifications have not been revealed yet. What we do know is that the lithium-ion battery pack is non-removable, and Bajaj claims a real-world range of 95km in Eco Mode and 85km in Sport mode.
The manufacturer has also confirmed that the electric Chetak will be priced between Rs 1 Lakh to Rs 1.2 Lakhs. The official prices will be revealed next year, but Bajaj has confirmed that it will be priced very attractively and competitively. Also, we are not sure if these prices are ex-showroom on-road prices. Bajaj has also confirmed that it will be positioned as a premium scooter rivalling the likes of Ather 450 and Okinawa i-Praise electric scooters. If these will be the price of the electric Bajaj Chetak, it is bound to catch some eyes.
