Bad Winners have designed a very special iteration of the Continental GT650 in partnership with Royal Enfield called the ‘Pegasus l’Étalon Noir’.
This mouth-watering version of the RE Continental GT650 has been developed by Bad Winners (BW). Bad Winners is a French design and engineering company that takes some of the most popular motorcycles around the globe and customises them creatively. The rough translation of ‘Pegasus l’Étalon Noir’ is ‘Pegasus the Black Stallion’. For this project, the Royal Enfield Continental GT650 was chosen and the result is quite impressive.

BW has turned the Continental into a drag bike with all the necessary modifications. This includes aesthetic changes, as well as mechanical enhancements. The overall appearance of the bike has been changed using things like handmade black carbon fibre fairing, and angled surfaces for light reflection to aid aero and achieve high acceleration. In a bid to transform this tourer into a drag racer, S&S Cycle has modified the engine extensively. This also includes a canister of NOS which you might have seen in Fast and the Furious. That could propel any machine into a rocket within milliseconds. S&S Cycle has also been working on the Continental 650 Twins for a long time.

To accomplish such high performance, one needs a stable foundation in the form of tyes and wheels. For that, the bike has been equipped with Dymag UP7X aluminium rims with broad Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres for maximum traction. These tyres allow the bike to be sharp around the corners as well. A lot of the performance aspects depend on whether or not the tyres are capable of putting the power and torque down efficiently. Lastly, one aspect of a fast bike that is even more important than acceleration is braking.

To achieve braking power within the shortest distance, the Pegasus has been equipped with Beringer single discs and callipers at the front and rear tyres which can bring the bike to a halt within no time.
