Digitally downsized Jeep Compass could make for an interesting Tata Nexon rival in the compact SUV segment in India.
Here is an innovative digital baby Jeep Compass concept that could prove to be a worthy rival to the massively popular Tata Nexon. The latter has dominated to compact SUV segment by consistently posting higher sales than the likes of Maruti Brezza and Hyundai Venue. On the other hand, reports have been flooding the internet about Jeep wanting to enter the segment with an appropriately sized version of its globally famous SUV, the Renegade. But we could imagine how it could be related to the Jeep Compass via this iteration.

Baby Jeep Compass As A Tata Nexon Rival
This rendering has been conceptualized by Vebtorquemotors on Instagram. The striking yellow and black combination is a great place to begin. In the front, one could not help but call it a baby Compass with a sealed and blacked-out 7-slat grille with an ‘e’ symbol indicating its electric or hybrid credentials. The bumper is beefy and the silver skid plate with black fog lamp housing lending it a sporty look justifying the SUV tag. The grille incorporates LED DRLs on the sides and there is a black decal on the scooped-out bonnet.

On the sides, the pronounced wheel arches dominate the profile that are filled nicely by a beautiful set of dual-tone machine ally wheels. Apart from that, there is a rugged side body skirting with Jeep inscribe on it on the rear door panel. The side pillars are blacked-out and the black roof gives the SUV a floating roof effect. At the rear, the familiar LED taillamps from the Renegade make an appearance, there is a roof-mounted spoiler with a shark fin antenna, sporty bumper and silver skid plate. This digital rendition sure looks close to something that is production-ready.

We will have to wait a bit to get a confirmation from Jeep about the arrival of a compact SUV for our market. Rumours have it that it could make use of the heavily localised 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that the Citroen C3 will come with. However, the baby Compass or Renegade, or whatever Jeep decides to call it, could feature a 4×4 drive system maintaining the DNA of the company. This would be a segment-first but also shoot the prices significantly compared to the competition.
