Swift is one of the most popular and iconic budget hatchbacks in many parts of the world. We already know how immensely successful it is in India. With this new Swift, Suzuki has just not gone for aesthetic modifications, but there is a new hybrid engine under the hood. The prime appeal of the Swift is its attractive fuel economy. Let us delve into the details of this review.
Australian Review of Suzuki Swift Hybrid
This video comes from CarSauce on YouTube. The host has the new Swift hybrid in bright red colour. The first thing to notice is the exterior styling elements. The front section gets a broad grille finished in gloss black, the LED headlamps are redesigned along with integrated LED DRLs, the machined 16-inch alloys look elegant, the rear door handle has been relocated to its traditional position from the C-pillar, and the tail section looks sporty with a rugged bumper. All in all, the dimensions are similar to the last-gen model but the overall appearance is fresh.
On the inside, the cabin layout is modern and there are tons of modern equipment on offer. Some of the top highlights include a diamond pattern on dashboard, dual-tone colour theme for the cabin, a steering wheel with multimedia control with tilt and telescopic function, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-built navigation, a part-digital instrument cluster, many USB charging points, wireless charger, heated front seats, cloth seats, automatic climate control with physical buttons, decent space in the back seat and 265-litre boot space.

Driving Impressions
The host takes the manual and automatic versions out on the road. The first aspect he notices is that the hatchback is not quick by any stretch of imagination. Despite the low weight, the performance can’t be termed sporty. However, that is not a bad thing considering the fact that the owners will primarily use it in urban environments and at normal speeds. Still, the handling is decent. Also, the gear-shifting in the manual is easy, thanks to the smooth clutch and gear lever. All in all, the Swift is a city car with incredible fuel economy without taxing your pockets.
