2015 Audi Q3 car from the German automobile manufacturer Audi, has been spied testing in China. It is expected to be launched first in China, followed by other international markets in February 2015. While we expect it to be launched in India till mid-2015. The spy shots of Audi Q3 facelift reveal some cosmetic changes which include more prominent hexagonal grille and full LED headlamps.
The rear bumper and tail lights have also been revised. It will come with new headlamps with daytime running LEDs and narrow headlamps with xenon bulbs. It also gets new alloy wheel designs. The changes in the interiors of the facelifted version of Q3 are minute and it is expected to continue with the similar interiors with just few changes.
Under the hood, it is expected to deliver better performance and efficiency with three TSI engines and three TDI engines producing power between 120 PS and 220 PS. Also, the engines will come with on-demand technology which will make the engines remain on when they will be needed and will turn them off when they will not be required.
Current version of Audi Q3 comes with 2.0 TDI diesel engine producing 177 PS of power at 4200 rpm and 380 Nm of peak torque at 1750 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 8.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 212 km/h, mated to 7 speed gearbox.
While 2.0 TFSI petrol engine produces 211 PS of maximum power and 300 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 7-speed transmission. The dimensions of the car are 4385 x 2019 x 1608 mm (Length, width and height respectively). It has a wheelbase of 2603 mm and ground clearance of 170 mm.
The compact crossover cars have recently gained a lot of popularity in India. Earlier we reported about the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class which has been sold out in India due to its huge demand, causing buyers to wait for 2-3 months till the next set of cars arrive. Having seeing the craze of buyers towards compact luxury crossover, it is apparent that 2015 Audi Q3 is going to boost up the company’ sales, yet it will have to face fierce competition with its rivals Mercedes GLA Class and BMW X1.
