Having put parent company Volkswagen‘s emissions scandal behind them, at least in India, Audi will get back on track with new launches at Auto Expo 2016. The brand has lost some ground to Mercedes-Benz in recent times, one of the major factors being a slightly ageing lineup. This year’s Auto Expo will feature the R8 in its latest avatar and will surely be one of the biggest crowd pullers at the venue. 2016 Audi R8 India Debut
Audi showcased the latest generation of its supercar at the Auto Expo. The 2016 R8, which was launched internationally last year, will be launched in India this year. The R8, in its latest avatar, stays true to the original model in terms of styling, but it does feature a slew of exterior updates that set it apart from the previous generation R8.
2016 Audi R8 India Price
The supercar will only be available with a V10 and will cost as estimated INR 2. 2 Cr for the Coupe. The Spyder will cost around INR 2.5 Cr while the R8 V10 Plus will be priced at INR 2.7 Cr.
2016 Audi R8 India – Specs
Unlike the previous generation R8, the new model will not get a V8. Only the V10 will be on offer with a 5.2-litre unit mounted behind the driver. The R8 V10 boasts of a max power output of 540 bhp while the V10 plus puts out 610 bhp. The 2016 R8 is 50% lighter than the outgoing car and does 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
Audi A6 allroad Quattro
Based on the A6 Avant, the allroad is basically a cross variant of the A6. Showcased at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, the car features Audi’s all wheel drive Quattro system.
Audi Prologue Concept
Audi showcased the Prologue concept at the 2016 Auto Expo as well. The concept points towards the direction Audi will take, both in terms of design and technology. It has already become the design inspiration for their newest cars such as the Q7, A4, TT and more.
Apart from the vehicles listed above, expect the entire range of Audi Cars in India was displayed at the event. The S3 Cabriolet, RS7 Performance, SQ5 also made an appearance for Audi India at the Auto Expo.
