Audi has revealed its inclination to fill the space between the Audi A1 and Audi A3 by a small car Audi A2. A2 was earlier produces in Europe till year 2005 and had been discontinued because of its low demand. Audi want to bring in Audi in an all-electric variant. This is essentially important for Audi to have a good contestant to compete in the markets which has an inclination towards green energy and electricity as one of the main sources of power for cars.
“There’s clearly room for another product and another concept between the A3 and A1,” Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.
The car will be most likely based on the same old platform but with modern styling and interiors to make it more aerodynamic and efficient. Audi has plans to launch the A2 in Germany by around 2014, however its not clear when it will be launched in USA. Some rumors are heard that it may be launched in the USA by as early as 2011, but there is no credible source about this timeline.
