Ather has introduced lease plans for its electric scooters. After doing a down payment, you can pay monthly rental for the scooter, starting at Rs 4000.
To facilitate the purchase of its electric scooters, Ather has introduced new monthly rentals for the scooter. This will give a better value proposition to the customers and will attract more buyers.
The monthly rentals start from Rs 3977 for the Ather 340 and Rs 4,220 for the 450. You can choose the leasing term from 13 months to 3 years. The buyer can also retain the scooter by paying an extra amount after the rentals get over.
For 340, you have to make a down payment of Rs 30,000 and for the other one, a down payment of Rs 40,000. For example, if you pay Rs 30,000 as down payment, Rs 3977 for 36 months, after the period, you can retain the scooter for Rs 15,000.

Meanwhile, the first Ather scooter under this leasing plan has already been delivered. The complete delivery process commenced a couple of days back. Currently, these scooters are only available in Bangalore.
The company has confirmed that it is soon planning to expand to other cities as well. Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune are going to get Ather showrooms and public charging stations by 2020.
While Ather 340 goes for Rs 1.09 Lakhs, the 450 goes for Rs 1.25 Lakhs. Currently, these both are the highest-priced premium electric scooters. Okinawa i-Praise is the nearest competition, priced over a Lakh.

Features on these E-scooters include Fast Charing, Reverse Gear, 7-inch colour display, GPS navigation, call and message alerts, Front and Rear disc brakes, LED headlights and Remote monitoring of the scooter.
340 E-scooter is equipped with a 1.92 kWh battery, that provides 6 BHP and 20 Nm of torque. The 450 comes with a bigger 2.4 kWh battery that delivers 7.5 BHP and 20.5 Nm of torque.
The range achievable on Ather 340 is 86 kms and that on 450 goes up to 107 kms. The top speed achievable stands at 70 kmph and 80 kmph respectively. Both the scooters are provided with a fast charger.

With the aid of a fast charger, the scooters can be cahrged from 0-80% in 2 hours and 40 minutes. However, a public charging station, it will take only 50 minutes to charge up to 80%.
