Ather has confirmed that it will launch the flagship 450X electric scooter in Ahmedabad, Kochi, Kolkata and Coimbatore as well.
Ather will launch the 450X electric scooter in four new cities, taking the total tally up to 12 now. After launching the 450 in Bengaluru, then Chennai, its successor will be available in Delhi NCR (Noida And Gurugram), Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Coimbatore.
Ather will start its operations in these four cities by the end of this year. Accordingly, it will announce the commencement of pre-bookings. Ather 450X will be available in two variants – Pro and Plus – priced at Rs Rs 1.59 Lakhs and the Pro for Rs 1.49 Lakhs (ex-showroom), respectively.
450X is more premium, powerful and quicker than the Ather 450. The Pro variant actually gets upgrades in the specifications whereas the Plus variant gets the same from 450. The former one gets a 2.9 kWh advanced lithium-ion battery pack which now produces 6 kW and 26 Nm of peak torque.

The 450X Pro variant gets a claimed top speed of 80 km/hr and sprints from 0-40 km/hr in just 3.3 seconds. Further, its range is also higher now, with a total of 85 kms now. It also gets a new Warp riding mode, along with its Sport, Normal And Eco mode.
The new battery is more advanced and charges 50% faster than the Ather 450. The 450X takes a total of two hours to be charged fully. However, the Plus variant can be charged in just 70 minutes, because of its smaller battery.
Just like the earlier one, Ather offers a subscription plan even for this. After paying Rs 99,000 for both the variants, you can get the Pro for a monthly subscription of 1,999 and Plus for Rs 1,699. Otherwise, you can pay the whole amount upfront.

Just around the launch of Ather 450X, TVS and Bajaj also launched their own electric scooter. So, technically, the Ather now competes with Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube. However, the latter two are not available in these many cities.
