Ather 450 has received important OTA updates for the navigation and riding range. This is the second update since its launch.
Ather 450 is one of the most premium and technologically advanced electric scooter in India. It offers a variety of features including a 7-inch touchscreen instrument console.
Ather has provided major over-the-air updates to the 450. Main changes are done to the navigation and riding range. Minor changes have also been done on the Smartphone app.
The updated navigation now allows the system to provide alternative and time-saving route options. The rider can select his/her the desired route by pressing the start button.

The Ather 450 will now get either an higher riding range or a lower range, than what is shown on the console. In case if the system feels hard acceleration and braking, it will alert the rider.
The riding modes have also been revised. The ECO mode is now Ride mode and Normal Mode is the Sport Mode. Reports say that Ather is currently developing another riding mode which will provide the highest riding range.
The Sport mode offers a riding range of 55 kms, and the Ride mode goes up to 65 kms. The underdevelopment mode will mostly offer range of 75 kms.

Lastly, the smartphone application update will now show display history and an estimated riding range based on the rider’s driving pattern. This shows the rider, the effect of riding style on the range.
Features onboard include Google Maps navigation, Sim card tray, 7-inch touchscreen tablet, IP65 rating (Waterproof), distance to empty, remaining battery and a huge boot space.
Currently, Ather 450 and 340 are only available in Bengaluru. By the next year, these scooters will also be available in other metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Company officials have confirmed the development.

Ather 340 goes for Rs 1.09 Lakhs and the 450 goes for Rs 1.25 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). They compete with the likes of Okinawa i-Praise, which is also priced above a Lakh.
