Tata Motors is well on its way to launching numerous SUV products across various segments in India. SUV is the flavour of the season. It has been the case in the last few years. That is the reason why carmakers are shifting to manufacturing smaller and smaller SUVs to cater to a wider range of audiences. Tata Motors is already a prevalent player in the Indian automobile market. It consistently ranks third on the list of the top-selling carmakers month after month only trailing behind Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. With its future plans, we might see it overtake the Korean auto giant. Here are the details of the upcoming products from Tata Motors.

Tata Harrier and Safari SUVs
In addition to Nexon, it was the Harrier and Safari duo which gained prominence in our market in terms of SUVs. Currently, these are the flagship models from the Indian giants. It has been a while since these SUVs were updated. In the meantime, many new competitors have appeared on the scene. As a result, these two products need a thorough overhaul. We know that Tata Motors is testing these vehicles for a while now. We are expecting the launch of the Harrier facelift in the coming weeks. In addition to exterior upgrades, there might be the addition of a turbo petrol mill under the hood to reach a wider audience. There are also reports of the electric version of the Harrier that could follow the launch of the ICE version.

Tata Nexon EV
Tata has updated the Nexon EV, now offering two versions – Prime and MAX. The MAX variant comes with a bigger battery for extended range. However, both these options are built on the existing Nexon platform. The compact SUV is also getting a major facelift, which involves fresh exterior design and interior improvements along with modern features. Following this update, it is likely that the electric Nexon will receive its own set of enhancements from the Indian auto giant.

Tata Punch EV
Continuing the news about the electric cars from Tata Motors, we might also see the electric version of the popular Punch micro SUV in our market soon. Note that it already offers the Tiago and Tigor in their electric versions. Since the Punch is close to these vehicles in terms of price, size and dimensions, it is possible that the electrified Punch could borrow the electric powertrain from these cars too. Hence, this would be Tata’s attempt at catering to the market of people looking for affordable EVs. We know that high initial costs are among the biggest challenges preventing mass adoption. Nevertheless, Tata Motors is already the market leader in this space.

Tata CURVV
During the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi, Tata Motors introduced the CURVV concept. This concept features a blend of a coupe and SUV design. At present, there is a noticeable space between the compact Nexon SUV and the higher-end Harrier/Safari SUVs. The lineup lacks a mid-size SUV to compete with the likes of the Creta. The CURVV concept aims to bridge this gap. It presents a modern appearance with its sleek front, LED strip beneath the hood, slim headlamps on the bumper, sporty bumper, attractive side alloys, and a gently sloping roofline towards the back. We could get the CURVV in ICE and electric configurations.

Tata Sierra
Finally, we have an exciting vehicle on this list. We agree that we might not see the Sierra on the roads anytime soon. But it is worth considering this unique product to know what Tata Motors is doing behind the scenes. It showcased the Sierra in the electric guise at the Auto Expo 2023. There were a lot of details revealed at the time. This includes things like the fact that it will be based on the Gen 2 platform. As a result, it will boast electric credentials in addition to the regular ICE versions. It is supposed to be launched around 2025. We are intrigued to see if, by that time, Tata might just go ahead with a pure electric powertrain only. These are some of the electric and ICE SUV models that are on the anvil from Tata Motors to cater to various segments in our market.
