Dealerships have confirmed that the Aprilia Storm 125 has been launched in India. It is the most affordable Aprilia scooter priced at Rs 65,000 (Ex-showroom).
After some time of speculations, Aprilia has finally launched the Storm 125 in India. It started reaching dealerships a couple of weeks back, and now dealerships claim that it is official.
The deliveries of Aprilia Storm 125 are scheduled to commence in a week or two. The bookings are currently ongoing. Priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), it is also the most affordable Piaggio scooter in India.
There are downsizes to the low pricing, in form of missing disc brakes. Storm 125 uses drum brakes on both the wheels with Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard.

Aprilia Storm 125 is based on the SR125, but gets different colour options and revised graphics. It will be offered in matte colour options with new accessories like a tall windscreen.
Storm 125 uses the same 124.6cc air-cooled engine, that delivers 9.51 BHP at 7250 RPM and 9.8 Nm at 6250 RPM. Like the SR125, it is one of the most powerful scooters in this segment.
The scooter remains suspended on telescopic forks at the front and a single sided monoshock at the back. We can expect the disc brakes to be introduced sometime later.

The features list will be the same with an analogue speedometer, a single piece grabrail, a front hook and the sporty alloy wheels. The SR125 is appealing to a universal set of buyers, but the Aprilia Storm 125 is focused on young male buyers.
Storm 125 rivals the likes of TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia, Suzuki Burgman Street, Hero Maestro Edge 125 and ofcourse, Vespa Notte 125. Currently, Aprilia has two 125cc scooters.
That’s not it. Piaggio is expected to launch some new models under the Aprilia brand name soon. The 150cc Tuono and RS are expected to be launched next year. A new family buyer-targeted scooter is also rumoured to be launched in 2020.
