Aprilia Storm 125 is set to be launched very soon. A new spy shot of the scooter has come up which shows that it receives no front disc brake. Is that so?
As we know, Piaggio is looking to expand its portfolio in India, under Aprilia as well as Vespa brand. New scooters are expected to launch this year, with the first one being the Storm 125.
Aprilia Storm 125 was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Now, for the first time, it has been spotted in a production-ready avatar. There is not much difference between the spotted and the showcased version.
However, the spotted test mule gets steel wheels and drum brakes, instead of the alloy wheels and disc brakes showcased at the Expo. Reports suggest that Storm 125 will be available with two options of braking setup.

This indicates that the launch is very near, with the alloy wheels and disc brake variant launching earlier. Reportedly, it will be priced at Rs 65,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
Aprilia Storm 125 is based on the SR125, but gets some cosmetic upgrades. It will be offered with matte colour options, new decals, different alloy wheel design and off-road biased tires. The scooter is aimed towards the male audience.
Storm uses the same 124.6cc air-cooled engine, that is tuned to deliver 9.5 BHP and 8.2 Nm of peak torque. A CVT gearbox is used over here.
For suspension, Storm 125 will use telescopic forks at the front and a single spring shockup at the back. Combined-Braking System will come as standard on the drum as well as the disc brake variant.

The feature list will be identical to what comes with SR125. It has been spotted with front hooks, an analogue instrument console, single-piece grab rail, the same smaller seat and a tiny tinted visor.
At the speculated price, it will be the most affordable Aprilia scooter. Aprilia Storm 125 will go against Suzuki Burgman Street, TVS Ntorq and Honda Grazia.
