Piaggio India has tasted a fair amount of success with the Aprillia SR 150. Basically, the SR 150 is being promoted as India’s first ‘sport-scooterbike’ and fits the bill for those looking for a fun-to-ride automatic scooter. The 150cc automatic scooter has been on sale for a price of Rs 68,806 (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). And now rumours have suddenly started abounding the web space that even the Aprilia SR 125 India launch isn’t too far in the offing. Various reports indicate that the SR 125cc is already in India for homologation.
In terms of looks, the SR 125 looks much like its 150cc sibling. The only visual difference arises out of the different set of stickers. The Aprilia SR 125 gets its juice from a 125cc single-cylinder engine that comes along with a CVT. This motor outputs 9.5 BHP and 8.2 Nm. The upcoming automatic scooter in India is likely to cost considerably lesser than its 150cc singling. Expect prices to start around Rs 60,000 mark.
