Unveiled back at the 2018 Auto Expo, the India launch of Aprilia RS150 and Tuono 150 has been delayed for some time. Instead, Piaggio plans to launch new EVs.
Piaggio-owned Aprilia showcased two motorcycles at the 2018 Auto Expo, in Delhi. RS150 and Tuono 150 are entry-level 150cc motorcycles, with the legendary Aprilia Racing style language.
At that time, Aprilia confirmed the India launch of Aprilia RS150 and Tuono 150. However, Moneycontrol now reports that both the motorcycles are put on hold, as the manufacturer is focusing on EVs and BS-6 models.
This was one motorcycle duo which a lot of riders were looking forward to. RS150 and Tuono 150 would go against the likes of none other than Yamaha R15 V3, along with Gixxer SF 250 and KTM Duke 200.

Report states that the reason for Piaggio not launching the duo anytime soon, is that the company could not meet cost targets. Also, the general market slowdown is one of the possible reasons for delaying the launch.
Talking about the India launch of Aprilia RS150 and Tuono 150, both were recently spied at a dealership meet in full flesh. Earlier reports confirmed that it will be launched in early 2020 itself.
RS150 and Tuono 150 use a 149cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, that delivers 18 BHP and 14 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
While the RS150 is a fully faired motorcycle, Tuono is a semi-faired one. Both of them are available with much bigger capacity engines, going up to 1100cc. The 150cc motorcycles would have their design language inspired by the bigger models.
