Aprilia is gearing up for the 2020 Auto Expo with two new launches, including a 160cc scooter and a 150cc motorcycle.
Piaggio is participating in the 2020 Auto Expo, with its sub-brand Aprilia getting new models. Aprilia is planning to showcase a new scooter as well as a new motorcycle for the 2020 Auto Expo, with launch expected to happen next year itself.
The new Aprilia scooter is reportedly a 160cc scooter. Going by earlier reports, Aprilia might be planning a maxi scooter for India. Long ago, there was the Kinetic Blaze which was a maxi-scooter and the outgoing Burgman is also something inspired by the same.
The new scooter will fit in the budget segment and Aprilia plans to make it a value for money product. With this, it could be advancing its poor sales in the premium scooter market.

Other than the new scooter, Aprilia is also planning a new motorcycle. Remember the RS 150 which was showcased at the earlier Auto Expo? We might see the same RS150 in a production-ready form now.
Recently, Aprilia launched the GPR150 in China which looks similar to the RS150. Reports suggest that the GPR150 will be sold in the Indian market. It uses a 150cc liquid-cooled four-valve FI engine, delivering 18 BHP at 10000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM.
We all know the Aprilia motorcycle will be a perfect competitor for the R15 V3. However, with Aprilia’s premium nature, we expect their new motorcycle to be priced more than the Yamaha R15 V3. It could well fall in the 1.5 Lakhs-1.6 Lakhs range.

Piaggio might also show some new models from the Vespa brand. We speculate Piaggio to showcase a family-targeted scooter from Vespa and Aprilia both, which will use the same engine but will look completely different.
