Fresh report says that Piaggio is bringing a new 150cc motorcycle under the Aprilia brand name at the 2020 Auto Expo. It might not be the RS150 or Tuono 150.
At the 2018 Auto Expo, Aprilia showcased two 150cc motorcycle, that were the RS 150 and Tuono 150. They confirmed that they are contemplating entering the 150cc premium motorcycle segment in India soon.
Months after, reports started coming in that Aprilia is launching the RS 150 in India in 2018 and then 2019. Now, Bikewale confirms that the Aprilia 150cc motorcycle will actually be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The motorcycle is in its final testing process and was actually seen at a dealer’s meet in Goa, a couple of months back. However, reports suggest that the RS 150 and Tuono 150 might not be the ones for India, but the Aprilia GPR 150.

For the Chinese market, Aprilia has the GPR 150 which is a fully faired motorcycle and was the one that was spotted at the dealer meeting. It is specifically made for China and reports suggest that this one could come to India as well.
The Aprilia 150cc motorcycle will come as a competitor to the Yamaha R15 V3, but is likely to be priced higher than it. In China, it uses a 150cc liquid-cooled four-valve FI engine, delivering 18 BHP at 10000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM.
The RS 150 was showcased with a lot of high-end gizmos, which would not come on the upcoming model. Features onboard could include LED headlamps, a digital instrument console, low-height clip-on handlebars and split seats.

With the new 150cc motorcycle, Piaggio is also planning to launch a new family scooter under the Aprilia name. At the 2020 Auto Expo, reports suggest that Piaggio could also launch an even more powerful maxi-scooter.
