Indian actress and Animal fame, Tripti Dimri, was recently spotted in her Renault Duster. She is in the news for her role in one of the highest-grossing movies of 2023, Animal. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer has accumulated a total worldwide earnings of Rs 772 Crore. The role of Tripti as Zoya has really resonated with people. She made her debut in 2017 with Poster Boys. Thereafter, she has been in a few prominent movies including Laila Majnu, Bulbbul and Qala. She has even bagged a Filmfare OTT Award and was featured in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 list of 2021. Renault Duster
Renault Duster was discontinued in India back in 2022. However, Duster is the reason for popularization of the mid-size SUV segment in our market. Duster arrived in India back in 2012. After a few years, the segment started getting crowded with other products. Today, almost all major carmakers have their products in this space. Needless to say, the Hyundai Creta is the most popular and highest-selling SUV in this category. Other successful models include the Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Honda Elevate and Skoda Kushaq.

Prior to discontinuation, the Duster used to come with three powertrain options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol. These generated 105 hp / 142 Nm, 84 hp / 200 Nm and 154 hp / 254 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The transmission duties were carried out by a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic, or an AMT gearbox. It retailed between Rs 8.59 lakh and Rs 14.25 lakh, ex-showroom. Note that the next Duster is likely to make its India debut in the second half of 2025.
