Anand Mahindra is an accomplished billionaire businessman who is the Chairman of Mahindra Group. He has a following of over 11 million on the micro-blogging platform, X (formerly Twitter). He is very active on the social media platform. In fact, his witty and thoughtful comments and banters with trolls are appreciated by the netizens. Interestingly, he keeps himself updated with the latest happenings from around the globe and frequently shares his honest opinions about various topics. But one thing he specializes in is dealing with trollers.
Anand Mahindra Replies to a Troll
Recently, an X user commented about Mahindra cars saying, “Your cars can’t compete with Japanese or Americans in their own land. Enjoy import substitution policies while they last. Mahindra will disappear as tariffs get reduced. Trash cars”. He commented this on the tweet in which Anand Mahindra shared the cost of the newly launched XUV 3XO. The starting price is Rs 7.49 lakh, ex-showroom, which is extremely competitive. But to this comment, Anand Mahindra replied in a classy manner.
He said, “Thank you for your skepticism. It only fuels the fire in our bellies. I was told exactly the same thing when I joined the company in 1991. Global consultants advised us to exit the industry. We were told the same thing when Toyota and other global giants in the UV space entered India. But we’re still around. Every day is a fight for survival. And we relish it. We hope to be around for the next 100 years, still fighting—every single day—for your approval.” This highlights the patience and composure of the man. Regardless of what the trollers say, he remains unfazed by their intention and comes up with respectable and reasonable replies.
Our View
I personally quite like the way Anand Mahindra deals with trollers online. It is a huge issue on social media platforms. People think that they can get away with writing anything without any consequences. I feel we must raise awareness about this pertinent issue which threatens to grip our current and the next generation. In fact, netizens even face mental issues because of the trolls. Thankfully, we have someone like Anand Mahindra who shows the way in how to deal with such users without losing your mental peace.
Thank you for your skepticism.
