Anand Mahindra Calls Thar Amphibian
The latest post from Anand Mahindra on X (formerly Twitter) reads, “An Instagram post from Chennai that was forwarded to me… A sighting of an amphibious creature…” The visuals capture someone driving the Thar through deep waters. The roads have been inundated with water due to the floods. In fact, the video offers a clear glimpse of what the condition is. There are only trucks travelling on the roads. A few people are also seen stranded in the water. But then a Thar emerges. The owner is driving it quite fearlessly across the water. On separate occasions, we have also seen crocodiles appearing in the water near residential areas.

Cyclone Michaung
The cyclone has brought life to a standstill. The power supply was suspended since Saturday as a precautionary measure. There are relief camps set up in 8 different areas. Furthermore, the Army and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are helping the state authorities in relief and rescue operations. The Chennai airport and the Southern Railway are facing cancellations of flights and trains, respectively. We can only hope that the situation gets better in times to come.

Author’s Note
We acknowledge that Thar owners are enthusiasts seeking hardcore off-roading experiences. However, it’s crucial to establish limits. While the Thar is built for challenges, safety should remain a priority. Off-roading shouldn’t jeopardize our well-being. Reckless behaviour contributes to road fatalities annually, demanding a more serious approach. We strongly advise against attempting extreme stunts, even with a capable SUV like the Thar.
