In the latest reply to a post on Twitter, Anand Mahindra says that he doesn’t mind people calling the new SUV, ScorpioN, with a sting. The ‘N’ in the name represents the new version of the iconic Scorpio to distinguish itself from the Scorpio Classic that will continue to sell alongside this new model. A Twitter user tagged Anand Mahindra in the post regarding pronouncing the Scorpio N as Scorpion. Certain design elements on the exterior styling do represent the sting of the scorpion too.

Anand Mahindra Calls The SUV ScorpioN With A Sting
The new Scorpio N has been received well by the customers. The exterior design cues on the SUV have that sting element of a scorpion-like chrome embellishment on the window frame. There are other attractive details on the Scorpio N that make it look like a modern SUV although the DNA it carries, belongs to the old workhorse. Mahindra has improved its capabilities ensuring that it becomes a successful and worthy off-spring to the legendary Scorpio. That is visible in the styling elements on the outside and mechanical upgrades under the hood.

The new Scorpio N comes with a 2.0-litre mStallion direct-injection turbo petrol engine that produces 200 PS and 380 Nm, a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that produces 132 PS / 300 Nm in lower variant, and a massive 175 PS / 400 Nm of peak power and torque on higher variants. There are manual and automatic transmission options to choose from along with the 4×4 drivetrain. The prices of the automatic and 4×4 versions will be revealed later this month while the rest of the lineup ranges between Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom. These are introductory prices and will be only applicable for the first 25,000 bookings.

There is a ton of off-roading equipment to ensure that the SUV glides over any terrain. There is a sophisticated 4XPLOR Terrain Management System with terrain modes for maximum traction under every circumstance. The rear differential lock is an added bonus along with 500 mm of water wading capacity, great approach and departure angles, and a dedicated new suspension to ensure great ride quality irrespective of the undulations on the track.
