In this latest interview, Car Dekho co-founder Amit Jain shares his heartwarming story about gifting a BMW to his grandfather. Amit founded Car Dekho in 2008 with his brother after they went to the Auto Expo 2008. The inspiration behind the website was that there was no place for anyone to have a look at the features and other details of cars. Hence, they formed a platform where people could experience in-depth analysis of various vehicles and compare the features, specs, etc. to make an informed decision. It became the first unicorn start-up from Rajasthan.

Amit Jain Bought BMW for his Grandfather
As per the information in the Instagram post by gyaansimplified, Amit explains his journey and initial days as the company co-founder. In this particular section of the video clip, Amit talks about how they used to watch luxury cars passing by near Marine Drive. That is when he thought that he would own a luxury car one day, as most people do. With a successful career as a Software Engineer until 2008, he ended up buying a BMW in the same year.

He had to bring the BMW from Delhi as Rajasthan didn’t have any BMW showrooms back then. He used to live in a joint family at the time. When he showed the luxury car to his grandfather, he couldn’t help control his tears. That is what luxury cars mean to most people who have not had the pleasure of ever owning one.

Shark Tank India Season 2 is currently running and Amit Jain is often seen critically analysing businesses before investing in them. According to some reports on the internet, his net worth is over $365 million US which is more than all the other sharks. His company is worth $1.2 billion US. With such an insane amount of wealth, no wonder there are tons of other luxury cars in his opulent garage as well.
