Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. , the number 1 car maker of India has recently launched the new BS4 compliant variant of its best selling small car Maruti Alto with FD8 796 cc Engine. There are already talks of stripped down version of Maruti Alto with a price tag of Rs. 2 Lakh, this variant is expected to come with cut-down features to keep the price low. Now there are news from some sources which suggest that Maruti may bring another variant which will be costlier than the present BS4 variant. The new variant of Maruti Alto will be powered by K10B Engine which powers Maruti A-Star and Maruti Zen Estilo.
The price tag of the existing variant of the Alto is between Rs. 2.3 Lakhs and Rs. 2.6 Lakhs approx. The new engine may increase the cost of new Powerful variant to somewhat closer or higher than Rs. 3 Lakh tag.
The existence of same car in various engine options may or may not work as well as expected. Only time will tell whether these events will boost the sale or impede them. The choice for the consumers will surely increase with this, but the timeline of the new Also with K-Series Engine has not been announced. We will keep you updates as soon as updates arrive.
