The third generation Renault Duster has been revealed as part of Dacia’s global launch in Portugal. The new Duster is hailed by Renault as the most powerful Duster yet. Originally launched in India in 2012, the Duster played a pivotal role in Renault’s success in the market. The SUV was available for a decade before discontinuation due to low demand. Platform and Dimensions
Underpinning the new generation Renault Duster is the carmaker’s CMF-B modular platform. The architecture is the work of Renault-Nissan alliance that even underpins the Dacia Sandero and Jogger. The new-gen model will be sold in both Renault and Nissan iterations. Preserving its characteristic boxy silhouette and the decidedly SUV charm, the new-gen Duster takes inspiration from the Bigster concept. It measures 4343mm. in length, which makes it bigger than the predecessor we all know. The wheelbase measures 2657mm.

New-Gen Renault Duster: Aesthetics
Presenting a bold stance, the latest Duster showcases a muscular and sculpted bonnet, prominent squared wheel arches, and body cladding. Enhancing its street cred are functional roof rails capable of holding up to 80kgs. The front exhibits Y-motif LED DRLs with chrome inserts on a sleeker grille. The lower section of the bumper resembles a bull bar. It integrates rugged body cladding, a larger air dam, and circular fog lights, with a notable skid plate contributing to its rugged aesthetics.
The side profile gets flared rear fenders and generous ground clearance. The new SUV rides on 18-inch dual-tone multi-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels. Bronze accents adorn the ORVM. A distinctive change includes the rear door handle now available on the C-pillar. The rear features Y-motif LED lights, a distinctive spoiler, and a robust bumper. Featuring a sharply sloping rear windscreen and providing a sufficiently big 472 liters of luggage space, the transformations from the first-gen Duster in India are so substantial that recognizing this SUV as a Duster might prove challenging. In conclusion, the new-gen Duster undergoes a significant overhaul in terms of aesthetics. This should help it stand out on our roads.

Engine Options
Internationally, the new Renault Duster be available with three powertrains. The base variant will feature a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This motor will offer 120 hp. The next option will be that of a 1.2-liter petrol hybrid engine. This will have a power output of 140 hp. The third choice will be of a 170 hp 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine. This engine will be capable of running on ethanol-mix fuel.. It will be the most powerful engine to be ever available on the Duster. However, it may be noted here that the Duster 1.3 Turbo India got around the turn of the decade was only a shade less powerful at 163 hp.
