The 2020 Isuzu D-Max is a complete overhaul from what it has been before and it gets fresh new styling both on the inside and the outside with a lot more premiumness.
Isuzu has unveiled the all new 2020 D-Max pickup truck. The Isuzu D-Max is one of the very few pickup trucks you can buy in the country and it is available for both personal and commercial buying. The Isuzu D-Max also comes in various cab forms (from a two-door to a four-door) including a higher-spec V-Cross variant. The all-new Isuzu D-Max has been unveiled in Thailand for the Thai market, but it will soon make its way to India.
Although the 2020 Isuzu D-Max has become smaller in overall length, it has grown in terms of its wheelbase. It has also become lighter than before and Isuzu says that the body shell has been upgraded to meet the safety regulation in Thailand with added safety features which are mandatory in the country such as blind-spot monitoring and a cross-traffic alert system.
While the D-Max has retained its signature look, it looks much more rugged and aggressive now. Oodles of chrome on the grille has been substituted with a all-black finish and it really looks intimidating. The face also gets new bi-LED projectors headlights, with a redesigned bumper that house the turn indicators and fog lamps, along with a new radiator grille shape. At the rear, there’s new LED tail-lights, and a integrated rear bumper. There are new-design alloy wheels on offer too. Overall, the car looks much more modern, neat and proportionate that before.

However, it is on the inside where the D-Max receives its most comprehensive updates. The all-black themed interior now gets a completely new 9.0-inch infotainment screen with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, flanked by the AC vents on either side. The circular design for the climate controls are gone and in comes a new dual-zone climate control system that’s operated by a stack of buttons below. There’s a new digital MID in the instrument cluster as well.

Under the hood, the 2020 Isuzu D-Max comes with two engine options in Thailand. There’s a 1.9 Liter diesel engine that churns out 150hp and 350Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and this engine/gearbox configuration was just introduced in the India-Spec D-Max Automatic very recently. The other engine available is a 3.0-litre diesel unit that produces 190hp and 450Nm of torque. Transmission option include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox with the power being sent to all-four wheels or just the rear-wheels. Although Isuzu hasn’t clearly said that when the new D-Max is coming to Inida, we hope its soon.
