The mid-size crossover segment is showing no signs of slowing down anywhere in the world, with the competition heating it was only fair for General Motors to to update the GMC Acadia – a vehicle hugely popular amongst the locals in this part of the world. Here’s what to expect from the updated 2024 GMC Acadia when it makes its way to the UAE early next year.
2024 GMC Acadia
The 2024 Acadia has addressed the design issues that once made it seem out of sync with GMC’s philosophy. Although the design changes might appear more evolutionary than revolutionary at first glance, they are evident. Firstly, the front fascia boasts a larger grille with a 3D effect in the Denali trim, complemented by C-shaped LED headlamps, creating a Yukon-inspired appearance. Additionally, the rear design incorporates C-shaped tail lamps within a piano-black insert, providing a wrap-around effect.

Dimensions
One of the biggest changes will be the fact that, unlike the outgoing generation of the Acadia, the upcoming generation will share its body dimensions with that of the larger Chevrolet Traverse. This means that from being one of the smaller mid-size crossovers in the segment, the Acadia will transition to become one of the bigger ones. The biggest increase will be seen in the wheelbase which now measures in at 3070 mm. This is the same wheelbase length as the bigger Yukon. The increase in wheelbase will also mean that the interior space will be more than before, which is something really important for buyers in this segment.

Specs
The 2024 GMC Acadia is set to bring a significant transformation, with one of the most notable changes being the introduction of an entirely new engine. This marks the end of an era as GMC bids adieu to the trusty 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine that had been the powerhouse for the first and second generations. Stepping into the spotlight is a brand-new 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, promising to deliver an impressive 328 BHP and a robust 440 Nm of torque. This engine heralds a new era of power and efficiency for the Acadia.
Not just limited to the engine, the 2024 Acadia is also changing gears quite literally. It swaps out the outgoing model’s 9-speed transmission for a modern 8-speed torque converter. This new transmission is expected to enhance the driving experience, offering smoother shifts and improved overall performance.
