In a shocking piece of information, an Agra dealer was caught selling cheap electric scooty using the logo of a big EV player. It fascinates me beyond measure what some people end up doing. India is home to all sorts of bizarre activities. Being active in the automobile industry, I can only speak about this domain. I have seen many aftermarket modification houses which are able to transform any two-wheeler or four-wheeler into any other vehicle. However, this seems to be the first instance where a dealer was selling fake electric scooters to unsuspecting customers.
Agra Dealer Sells Cheap Electric Scooty
This news has been circulating all around the internet for the past couple of days. In fact, I was able to find a video of the news report from Zee News on YouTube. The reporter is at the place where these electric scooters are parked outside a Police station. Perhaps these are the scooties which have been seized by the authorities after this scam came to light. As per the information in the video, a dealer was selling these electric scooters by pasting the logo/sticker of another big electric scooter company to fool the consumers.
He was able to sell a few EVs before getting caught. The reporter takes us closer to the electric scooter to show us the reality. He lifts up the seat of the electric scooter to show the cheap and local components used to make this scooty. The wires and other elements look low quality, confirming that these are fake electric scooters which have been assembled in some local markets. I am yet to know the details of how many such scooties were sold until now and how the investigation will unfold further. In any case, the guilty party must be punished as per the law.
Our View
Now, I must advise our readers to never fall for such traps. It is possible that the fit and finish of the exterior looks professional and someone might promise you an attractive discount. However, you must always visit the authorized dealership, browse through the website to compare the features, designs and prices, and physically inspect the vehicle. Once you are satisfied with everything, you can go ahead and complete the legal formalities toward purchasing the vehicle. I hope our readers won’t fall for such cheap scams and ever raise awareness among others regarding the same.
