The Jeep Meridian facelift has been spied testing recently. Meridian, for the unversed, is the 7-seat version of the Compass. It was launched in our market back in May 2022. Hence, it has been over 2 years since it has received any upgrade. I have reported about the test mule on multiple occasions in recent times. This suggests that the launch of the facelift is around the corner. Let us dive into the details of this latest spotting.
Jeep Meridian Facelift Spied
The latest information about the spied Jeep Meridian facelift stems from Mukesh Auto Vlog on YouTube. The visuals capture the large SUV completely wrapped in camouflage. Still, its silhouette reveals its true identity. On top of that, there are not all that many changes to the exterior. For instance, it continues to get the vertical slats on the front grille flanked by LED taillamps on either side. Furthermore, it gets a sporty bumper with what looks like fog lamps on the extreme edges of the bumper. Thereafter, I also see a rugged skid plate area to accentuate its SUV traits.
On the sides, it could get a new set of alloy wheels which fill the squarish wheel arches convincingly. Also, the length of the SUV informs about its 7-seat configuration. Being a large SUV, the interior is spacious and the practicality is appealing. There are roof rails visible in this video as well. However, I believe these are for namesake and not functional. A glimpse of the inside also hints at retaining the layout of the current model. This includes a free-standing touchscreen infotainment display and premium materials on the dashboard, door panels and centre console. All in all, the alterations on the Jeep Meridian facelift will be subtle.
Specs
I don’t expect any changes to the powertrain either. It will continue to get a familiar Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine which generates a decent 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak power and torque. The buyers get an opportunity to choose between either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The higher variants are equipped with a sophisticated 4×4 drivetrain technology which elevates its off-roading capabilities and appeal. At the moment, the prices range from Rs 33.77 lakh to Rs 39.83 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift will also get ADAS which means that we will see a slight premium over these prices.
