Ford cars are known to have strong build quality and have kept its passengers safe most of the times. Be it any car from the manufacturer, all have received good appreciation for the build quality. Here is one such example where a Ford Freestyle was involved in a life-threatening accident.
This accident happened in Karnataka under heavy rains. The Freestyle was travelling through the hilly roads and was under speed limit. Suddenly, a truck came from the front which suddenly lost control. Most of the trucks in India are not maintained and often, their tyres are completely damaged but they still drive it.

First, the rear portion of the dumper hit a bike on which two people were travelling. Both immediately fell on the ground and were knocked out for some time due to the impact. Then the rear portion scraped the roof of the Ford Freestyle completely. The front passenger was making a random video and captured the accident on the lens.
The A-Pillar and the roofline have been completely damaged. The front windscreen has been shattered and there is some damage to the bonnet as well. The damage has reached at the back as the rear windscreen is also broken. The doors have been damaged but have not come out. All this happened and the passengers walked out completely safe with some injuries due to the glass.
The airbags did not come out because there is no damage to the front bumpers. We are not sure if the side airbags would have also opened up in this case. Despite that, both the passenger and the driver were completely safe. You can see on of them standing behind the car in one of the photos.
