The Hero Xtreme 1.R Concept essentially previews the design for the next-gen Xtreme and it will also perhaps be powered by a new high-performance engine.
The EICMA 2019 is seeing a lot of action and our home grown Hero MotoCorp too has something very interesting up its sleeves. Hero showcased the Xtreme 1.R Concept at the EICMA 2019 which is essentially a precursor to the next-generation Xtreme. This new Hero Xtreme is aimed at a much younger and you can certainly tell that from the looks of this motorcycle. Considering Hero’s conservative design language, especially with motorcycles such as the Xtreme 200R, this sure is a welcome surprise.
Hero says the design of this motorcycle has been inspired by the precision of an arrow. That really explains the sharp lines on this motorcycle, giving it an aggressive and committed stance. The LED headlamps looks like they mean business and the tank is beefy and muscular. The tail section of the motorcycle rises quite high – much like a sportbike – and there are LED tail lamps underneath the cowl. There’s even a Go Pro Camera smart hidden above the tail lamps.
The motorcycle also gets a floating rider seat which is quite cool indeed. However, lets not forget that is a concept motorcycle and not all design details will make it to the production-spec Xtreme. But it still looks very promising indeed. This concept also seems to be using the existing chassis and wheels from the Xtreme 200 R under the bodywork, but there’s no word if this frame will make it to the new Xtreme.

The official press release states that the Xtreme 1.R Concept predicts a motorcycle that boasts sharp handling, be it in the streets or around corners. But we do not know if the new Xtreme will continue with the light and agile chassis of the existing 200 R or get a completely new frame. Also, the beefy front fork, radially mounted front brake calipers, that performance exhaust and slick tyres wouldn’t be part of the production-spec Xtreme.

Hero hasn’t revealed any details of the engine that would power the new Xtreme though. But as we can see on this Xtreme 1.R concept, it gets a basic air-cooled engine, although you do see an oil-cooler tucked behind the belly pan. However, we think that Hero will use a new high-performance engine that will either be liquid cooled or oil-cooled for the new Xtreme. That’s all that is known from this concept bike and we expect that Hero would show us a near-production spec or the actual motorcycle by the end of 2020.
