The battery specifications, water wading capability and safety features of the upcoming MG eZS electric SUV have been leaked ahead of its launch this year.
Ahead of its launch in December 2019, some technical specifications including the battery details of MG eZS have been leaked. The bookings for India’s second electric SUV will commence next month, whereas the prices will be revealed in January 2020.
MG eZS will use a 44.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which will be IP67 resistant. The electric SUV is most likely to offer a driving range of around 260 kms. For the Indian market, we are expecting a better driving range.
Talking about the safety features, it will be the same that comes on the UK-spec eZS. The features will include six-airbags, rear passenger seat belt reminder, Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, ABS, ESP, Pedestrian alert system and safety cage for the EV battery.

Features onboard will include a touchscreen infotainment system with Hector’s i-Smart technology, voice recognition, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, satellite navigation, projector headlamps and much more.
The E-SUV will be assembled at MG’s plant in Halol, Gujarat. The test mules have already been spied in India without any camouflage. Globally, it comes in two variants but in India, we will be only getting a single variant.
The electric motor produces 143 BHP and 353 Nm of peak torque, with a single-speed transmission. Also, MG is going to offer a 7-year warranty on the car and the lithium-ion battery pack.

Recently, there were reports of MG also introduce the petrol and petrol-hybrid versions of ZS SUV. MG ZS has reportedly been registered in India and a document regarding its specifications have been leaked. If coming to India, it will be placed in the segment just below Hector, priced between Rs 10-14 Lakhs. Also, the MG ZS will be the ideal competitor for Nissan Kicks, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
