The sales of MG Hector for the month of October have crossed 3500 units. The waiting period of the giant SUV is over six months, depending on the city.
MG Motors is riding high on the success of its first launch in India, the big Hector SUV. High waiting period and the overwhelming response is something that MG is experiencing in 5 months of its debut.
In the festive season/October, the sales of MG Hector have crossed over 3500 units. This is the highest sales that MG has achieved in 5 months and is also one of the highest figures ever achieved by other SUVs in the segment.
The waiting period as of now is still over six months, while many deliveries scheduled directly in 2020 now. In July-August, the period had actually gone up to a year because of increasing bookings every day.

Officials from MG have confirmed that the production capacity of Hector has been increased from 2,000 units to 3,000 units a month. The second shift at its Halol, Gujarat plant has also been started to decrease the waiting period.
Recently, the prices of Hector were increased by Rs 30,000-40,000 depending on the variant chosen. The prices now start at Rs 12.48 Lakhs going up to Rs 17.28 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Since the Hector is BS-4 compliant until now, the prices will increase when BS-6 engines come in the form.
MG Hector is a 4.7-metre five-seater long SUV that goes against the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and base-spec variants of Jeep Compass. It is the longest car in its segment, nearly as long as the Innova Crysta.

Hector is available with a 1.5 Litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine also comes with a Smart-Hybrid system alongside. The Petrol-hybrid and diesel variants come with a 6-speed manual gearbox but the petrol engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT.
MG is prepping up to launch its second offering in India, which is the EZS electric SUV. It will be priced around Rs 25 Lakhs, going up against Hyundai Kona EV. The MG EZS is being assembled at their Gujarat plant and has been spotted testing ocassionally.
