Yamaha R15 V3 will also be getting a BS6 compliant engine which is expected to launch later this year or earlier January
Yamaha Motor India has hiked the prices of the R15 V3 before the festive season. The two wheeler saw an increase of Rs 600 in the price with the latest hike. Mind you, the price increase of Yamaha R15 V3 is limited to the standard and dark edition trims.
With the festive season approaching, most manufacturers provide discounts, cashback scheme and offers to boost up the sales of their products. However, Yamaha decided to increase the prices of R15 V3. There is no specific reason for the hike but we expect that the bike is giving good business to the manufacturer and hence a significant Rs 600 won’t matter to the customer.
The prices of the R15 V3 now stands at Rs 1,40,880 for the standard trim whereas the Dark Edition now comes at Rs 1,42,880. Earlier both the trims came at a price tag of Rs 1,40,280 and Rs 1,42,280. The Moto GP continues at Rs 1,42,780. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.

Yamaha R15 V3 has always been known as a budget sportbike with the ability to deliver good fuel economy, ride handling and rider’s comfort at a nominal price. It competes with the recently launched KTM RC125 which was recently launched in the market. The latter has been selling very well in the country.
Yamaha R15 V3 is powered by a 155cc, one-cylinder engine which produces 19.1 bhp along with a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 1800 rpm. It gets a fuel injection system and a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The braking is handled by front and rear disc brakes with 282 mm and 220 mm respectively. It gets 17-inch alloy wheels and gets telescopic suspension at the front with Swingarm suspension at the rear wheels.

Other few highlights of this bike stand at dual channel ABS, slipper clutch, fully digital instrument console, LED headlamps and taillights and among others. The ARAI certified mileage is 40 km/l and the fuel tank capacity sticks to 11 litres. Yamaha R115 V3 is available in four options, Thunder Grey, MotoGP Livery, Racing Blue and Darknight.
In other news, the R15 V3 is all set to receive the BS6 engine. The power figures will be reduced from 19 bhp to 18 bhp. Other than the new engine and drop in power figures there will be no significant changes for the two wheeler. However, addition of new colours might be introduced and the Bluetooth speedometer is likely to come too.
