Hero’s first BS-6 offering, the Splendor i-Smart is just some time away from its launch and the engine specifications and dimensions have now been leaked.
Hero Splendor i-Smart BS-6 launch is just around the corner, as the manufacturer has already received the certification for it. It is the first motorcycle to receive the BS-6 compliant engine and the first two-wheeler from Hero itself.
Now, IAB has leaked the registration documents of the Splendor i-Smart BS-6. It gets a 113.2cc engine now, instead of the 109.15cc engine. To make the engine comply with the upcoming norms, the bike now gets fuel-injection (FI) system.
Further, the engine will produce 9.15 BHP and 7500 RPM, which slightly down by 0.35 BHP coming out of the 109.15cc unit. We expect the torque figures to also come down slightly, all because of the FI system.

However, with the inclusion of the FI system, the mileage will increase by 10-15%. As earlier, the new version will continue with the Idle Start-Stop System (i3S). This system switches off the engine if it is idle for more than 5 seconds and starts automatically once the clutch is pressed.
For suspension, the bike will continue with telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the back. Braking will be handled by drum brakes at both the end as standard and an optional front disc brake as well.
Reports suggest that the BS-6 versions have already started reaching dealerships across India. At the time of the certification as well, there were rumours of it launching around the festive season.
