Fresh reports suggest that Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is planning to launch an array of 300-600cc motorcycles, starting next year.
Despite seeing a slump in the sales, Royal Enfield is still considered one might company when it comes to premium motorcycles. A lot of manufacturers are trying to take on the likes of RE, a lot.
A new report from ET Auto suggests that new Honda Motorcycles are being readied which will be sold through the Big Wing dealerships. Not only that, Honda will be the latest addition to the rivals list of Royal Enfield.
The report suggests that Honda is planning to launch new motorcycles with engine capacities ranging between 300-600cc. That’s the same segment where Royal Enfield is the major player, and no one stands near to it.

Honda plans to launch more than 100 showrooms across 22 locations in India, just for the premium bikes. The first of the 300-600cc products from these BigWing showrooms is likely to come out in the next 18 months.
Meanwhile, Honda is working on the different body styles and engine capacities that will be needed for their portfolio. What we expect is a naked streetfighter, a cruiser, a retro-styled motorcycle and a fully-faired sports bike.
It recently launched the CB300R, which is a CKD unit priced at Rs 2.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The neo-retro motorcycle is the smallest offering that comes from the premium Honda showrooms.

Honda further states that they are aiming for a double-digit market share in the 300-500cc segment, in the long term. Also, these motorcycles might be exported from India post-2023.
Talking about the upcoming BS-6 norms, Honda has already kickstarted its trend with the new Activa 125 BS-6. Most of the Honda models will be upgraded to BS-6, but some like Navi and Cliq might not be.
