Three most popular reason why Kia Seltos is garnishing sales is because of the availability of three BS6 compliant engine options, Premium features and Competitive pricing thus making it a popular choice among people.
Kia Motors made its debut with the Seltos and the car is surely eating out the sales of the popular Hyundai Creta. The sales numbers of the Kia Seltos came out at a total of 7.754 units in September.
Kia Seltos topped the chart by beating Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and MG Hector in September sales. The mid-size SUV also garnered over 40,000 bookings in just a 35 days which is also a record in its segment.
One of the most important reasons for the sales of the Kia Seltos is the distinctive styling and the premium features the SUV has to offer. With the second in line after the MG Hector to provide connected car technology in this segment, the UVO connect makes it a technology friendly car.

Hyundai Creta | 6641 | 6001 |
MG Hector | 2608 | 2018 |
Tata Harrier | 941 | 635 |
Observing the sales of the SUVs then Kia Seltos gained over 1000 attractions for the Sept’19 when compared to the Aug’19 when it only sold 6236 units. Tata Harrier which paced up swiftly from the start now sits at the last position at just 941 units.
Earlier, the segment was ruled by Hyundai Creta but the SUV saw a fall of more than 1000 units when compared to the Seltos. The new entrant to the market, MG Hector could not charm its way much but still sold 2608 units which are decent enough.
Another reason for the top sales of the SUV is the availability of the BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engines. There are a total of three engine options to choose from – two petrol and one diesel engine.
The naturally aspirated petrol churns out 115 bhp with 144 Nm of peak torque while the 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine produces the same power as 1.5L petrol but torque figures stick to 250 Nm. The powerful of the lot, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine makes 140 bhp with 242 Nm of torque.
