Design
Talking about the recently launched Maruti S Presso, then the hatchback looks like a fusion of Alto K10 and WagonR and copies the height from Brezza. The design is fresh and Maruti claims to follow the young heart.
Like seen in the Kwid, the S Presso also offers digital instrument cluster on board along with several other features like front power windows, multi-function steering wheel and among others.

Hyundai Santro looks like the smaller version of the Grand i10. The car gets good exterior detailing with fresh interiors. It follows Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy and gets a large cascading grille along with basic headlamp unit but with sharp creases. The car looks tall and does make a statement.

Hyundai Santro beats the Maruti S Presso in dimensions anyday. The wheelbase of Maruti S Presso stands at 2380 mm as compared to the Hyundai Santro which is at 2400 mm.
The S Presso looks smaller in length but covers up in height, given the advantage of a micro SUV. Although the height of S Presso is shorter by 11 mm from the Santro, the recently launched car does look tall.

Maruti has been tuning most of its cars in its portfolio with the latest emission norms. Be it Baleno, Ertiga, Swift or best selling WagonR, all have received a BS6 engine. And S Presso is not an exception either and becomes the first car in its segment to get the updated norms.
The power figures of both Maruti S Presso and Santro remain identical with the latter producing 1 bhp more and 3 Nm of extra torque from the engine. Both the cars get a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. The ARAI certified mileage figure sticks to 21.7 kmpl and that for Santro sticks at 20.3 kmpl.
Features
The recently launched Maruti S Presso comes with features like keyless entry, fully digital instrument console, large 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets multi function steering wheel and front power windows.
On the other hand, Hyundai Santro gets equipped with features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, Fog lamps, Rear washer wiper, All-four power windows, Rear AC vents to name a few.
Safety Features
Maruti S Presso and Hyundai Santro share the basic driver side airbag, Anti Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Seat belt reminders and High speed alert system as standard.
Hyundai Santro further sees dual front airbags, Reverse parking camera on its top spec variants. The basic rear parking sensors comes in the Maruti S Presso while the Santro gives it a miss on all its trims.
Prices
The third generation of Hyundai Santro is only available in a petrol engine. Also, the entry level hatchback from the manufacturer saw the deletion of its base variant, D Lite followed by Era and a new Era Executive trim was introduced.

Maruti Suzuki S Presso sees a lesser price which starts at Rs 3.69 lakh and the top model fetches till Rs 4.91 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car is slightly costlier than the Alto k10.
